Profile

Pascale Ramonda has over 20 years experience in the international film industry.

Her career began in film finance working with Producer Paulo Branco for 3 years at his Lisbon headquarters. As Project Manager for European financing, she oversaw all European fundraising initiatives.

She then moved to Paris to join Celluloid Dreams, one of the industry’s leading international sales agents of independent films, as Festivals Manager. During her 10 years working with Celluloid Dreams, she oversaw the launch of new titles at all major international film festivals and markets as well as managing festival and non-commercial screenings for a catalogue of over 200 award winning independent films (Directors include Takeshi Kitano, Dardenne brothers, François Ozon, Jafar Panahi, Naomi Kawase, Apitchapong Weerasethakul.)

Observing the market’s evolution led her to notice an unprecedented number of deserving art house films that were no longer finding international distribution. In this context, festivals and non-commercial screenings are the ideal way for these films to reach their audiences and receive the exposure they deserve. The non-commercial circuit has become more important than ever before to a film’s international career and is beginning to emerge as a viable alternative to traditional distribution channels.

Pascale Ramonda’s company was launched in 2010 as a new venture adapting to this new reality of promoting and distributing independent films. Selecting strong titles that have bypassed industry circuits from the major international film festivals, her mission is to match each film with the best screening opportunities around the world.

Pascale Ramonda is excited to occupy this new space in the industry, adding to and complementing the traditional role of international sales agents. Among her clients are some of today’s promising young directors: Tatsunari Ota (There is a Stone), Juan Maria Monico Cagni (Ofrenda), Riar Rizaldi (Monisme), Maria Aparicio (Sobre las Nubes), Cyrielle Raingou (Le Spectre de Boko Haram), Rugile Barzdziukaite (Acid Forest)… along with confirmed directors like Andres di Tella (Mixtape La Pampa), Sophie Letourneur (Voyages en Italie), Salvatore Mereu (Bentu), Narimane Mari (We had the day Bonsoir), Hassen Fehrani ( 143 Sahara Street)…
